Re: mp4 Playback Quality

Using VLC, click on the "start playlist" button then select "Universal Plug N Play" in the left menu.
You server should appear with the name you have set.

Re: Server not found via remote connection.

for security purposes, you should not allow the access to the service outside your network.

try and set up a VPN instead.

Re: LG TV (webOS) transcode only audio?

I do not own an LG TV but just drop my hypothesis: the issue might be your wifi connection.
At least, what UMS has calculated at one moment.
Try to remove that limit by setting "automatic_maximum_bitrate = false" in UMS.conf file and see if the video is still transcoding.

Re: UMS crashes when turning monitor off

I don't know how to investigate more but it is related to dxcore.dll.

Did that happen after some Windows update ?

Re: UMS crashes when turning monitor off

Re: Exceeding the estimated network speed

This is spot on.

In UMS.conf file:

Code: Select all

automatic_maximum_bitrate = false
Optionnally, one can add (unit is Mb/s):

Code: Select all

maximum_bitrate = 100
Thank you.

[SOLVED] Exceeding the estimated network speed

Hi, One of my video files has these following attributes: - Overall bit rate: 24.7 Mb/s - Format: DTS XLL. Because of the audio codec not supported, it is transcoded. Very good. The issue is that UMS estimates the network speed as 19 Mb/s (whereas my tv set displays 100/130 Mb/s; I can actually play...

Re: Stream all files, no transcoding

Hi, You could write StreamExtensions = * in your renderer configuration file. You could try ReadyMedia . Its purpose is simply to stream medias. No extra capabilities. It is very lightweight (it only needs 1 CPU, 50MB of RAM, <1GB of storage). One drawback is you have to restart it to detect new med...

Re: icon position

Hello, They are all collected in ums.jar . Unless, you plan to build the software yourself (or decompile/recompile), you can not add your custom image with the predefined ones. But you can probably set the RendererIcon parameter in your renderer configuration file with the absolute path leading to t...
