Re: Unable to open UMS panel

I looked in Ubuntu's Synaptic package manager. According to that, this is what is already installed: openjdk-8-jdk openjdk-11-jdk openjdk-17-jdk openjdk-8-jdk-headless openjdk-11-jdk-headless openjdk-17-jdk-headless openjdk-8-jre openjdk-11-jre openjdk-17-jre openjdk-8-jre-headless openjdk-11-jre-he...

Re: Unable to open UMS panel

I am now at version 21.09 of MediaInfo. When I install version 17.0.1 of UMS and leave the jre8 directory undisturbed, then I have the problem that I cannot display the UMS panel. When I install version 17.0.1 of UMS and change the name of the jre8 directory, then I am able to open the UMS panel. Ho...

Re: Unable to open UMS panel

I now have java version 17.0.2 installed.

The latest version of UMS that does NOT have the problem is version 10.4.1. Version 10.5.0 is the first version that introduces this problem.

Re: Unable to open UMS panel

SubJunk, thank you very much. Sadly, this does not work, I still have the exact same problem, I cannot open up the UMS panel from either the tray nor from the panel. I have attached the debug log file to this post. (The file is over 5 MB, so it is split into two attachments.) (Also, using this new 1...

Re: Unable to open UMS panel

Yes, I am running Linux - Ubuntu, to be specific (I talked about that in two of the above posts). UMS was definitely not running when I updated the UMS.conf file. As you can see from the attached screenshot, UMS.conf already has Log_Level = TRACE: Screenshot from 2022-03-06 19-09-38.png The above is...

Re: Unable to open UMS panel

See if you can post the logs. They should be located in C:\ProgramData\UMS Ideally we might need the trace logs to show why the GUI is not opening but switching to trace mode is harder without access to the GUI. You could edit the UMS.conf file and search for log_level = and set it to log_level = T...

Re: Unable to open UMS panel

Thanks for the reply and the suggestions.

I can't seem to find the log file. As I wrote in my original post, I am running Ubuntu, so the idea of looking in C:\ProgramData\UMS isn't going to work.

Likewise, I won't have a process named javaw.exe.

Unable to open UMS panel

UMS 10.17, ubuntu 20.04, java openjdk 11.0.13 I cannot find the UMS debug.log. Today I upgraded from version 9.???? to 10.17. Under version 9 all worked perfectly. Now with version 10.17, I can see that UMS starts, and from a remote computer on the LAN I can access UMS and explore the database just ...

Location of file can cause "parsing" error?

Running Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid), and UMS 5.3.1. I have one song, file name is this: 311 - Amber.mp3 If I put that song in a directory in the computer's hard drive, and then in the "Navigation/Share Settings" tab add that directory, and then restart the server, I get no errors in the log, and ...
