If UMS needs something that is not already on your system it should install it.
I don't know anything about Macs but have not seen anyone ask about this so it must not be a problem.

Unfortunately the trace logs did not reveal the problem like I thought, or is something I missed. I was hoping to see a message saying a file or port was in use. There is not a conf file for that series TV so UMS is falling back on an old one to give some compatibility but is causing videos that the TV supports to be transcoded. I altered a conf from a 2021 TV that should have similar support for formats so will work better but this will not be 100% right. J...

I'm staying with family for a few days so not set up to go over your logs but just checked them and it is finally in trace mode this time. Once I'm back home I'll be able to go over them and hopefully see the problem. When I was saying check if UMS is running I meant in the processes tab in task man...

I don't know the details but know there were a lot of "hacks" to make some devices work properly with networking as they were not compliant with the spec and with V11 the devs tried to bring UMS back within spec by using a different networking dependency as these hacks were causing other b...

Not sure. See if you can get logs of it doing this, both when it does and doesn't work with the same video, and that should give a clue.

Your logs were still not in trace mode. There is something you said that may explain things. There should only be 1 UMS icon in the tray area, if there are more then you have multiple versions of UMS running and they will conflict with each other. I was just saying confirm that it says Trace on that screen and if not then change the dropdown to trace and quit and restart UMS, then repeat the steps to replicate the problem like pressing restart server till UMS appears on your PS4 then try to access it on the PS4 before packing the logs.
