Re: Renderers Samsung QLED 4K 2023 Q68C
Your TV does not support DTS so it will not be able to play without transcoding, or will play the video but no audio. Samsung has stopped supporting DTS from around 2018 as it saves them money on licencing fees. The only way for this to fully play properly is to transcode into a format that is suppo...

Re: Renderers Samsung QLED 4K 2023 Q68C
Please post your logs on the forum, the link was empty anyway. I'll remove them from your post so it does not get confused with spam. From your description this is normal as DTS is not supported on that TV so the file has to be transcoded to a mpeg stream to be playable. As the transcoded file does ...

Re: filename convention(s) for multi-episode videos
I don't know exactly but from other examples I have seen and from what makes most sense to me I think seriesName.S01E01-03.mkv is what it should be. There is no point in repeating the series number for each episode like in the other example you gave as they will be the same, and better to show the r...

Re: Renderers Help!
That change will not match anything as the whole line has to match. Assuming those models will have the same format support (a quick side by side comparison of those 2 manuals it looks so) then you can use UpnpDetailsSearch = UBD-M[7|8|9]\d{3} for all of them to use the same conf. Maybe change Rende...

Re: Renderers Help!
I can see that UMS is choosing to stream those 2 videos as the supported formats match, so if they will not play then there is something about them that are not supported. I compared their formats to the specs in the manual and it does appear that they should be supported so I don't know what is sto...

Re: Renderers Help!
OK for the UHD player it was not using the conf so that change did not work. I tried a different way that should work all the time. Samsung Ultra HD Blu-ray.conf The ES6000 is using the conf but needs testing to get the supported formats correct, something you will have to do though. I can see all f...

Re: Renderers Help!
The CD and NotCD confs are fall backs when there is no better match for a Samsung device. They have a low priority so better matches will take precedent, but because it is possible for you to rename devices even this can break things. The HD blu-ray did not give anything else in the headers so that ...

Re: Renderers Help!
I can see that the reason that those videos are transcoding on the Samsung Ultra HD Blu-ray is because they use the opus audio format and this was not in the supported formats list. I had a check over the supported formats in the manual and did not see opus mentioned there but it could have been usi...

Re: Renderers Help!
Could you post your logs showing these being played so I can see why UMS is choosing to transcode them? (see the section in red above)

Re: Disambiguation help for new user
I don't know the details of how metadata is retrieved but I know it goes off filenames not necessarily the folder names, so if you have renamed and abbreviated your files then UMS cannot make a match to online services like opensubtitles and TMDB, IMDB etc. If the match is ambiguous like films from ...
