I see, thank you. Since the result is the same in v9, it would be useful to know when the problem first started happening. Are you able to try other previous versions to narrow that down? It would make my job much easier to know when it first occurred

UMS v9.1.0 works OK using edge.
The next version I have is 9.8.2 and that does not work in Edge.

Other browsers are just too problematic too go into. Even if they do work, the playback is jumpy.

I am also using DMS and that seems to work with all browsers fine.

To be honest, DMS is now my main media server software that I use.
To me it seems that UMS is pushing ahead with too much effort being put on new features rather than fixing existing issues such as the Java memory problem when running on a 24/7 server.

Thanks

Cool, where do you get DMS from? Is that Nadahar's project? If so then we can work out what the difference is to fix it

Yes it is Nadahar's product.

PS: DMS also has the Java memory problem but apart from that it works fine for me.

Which things does it fix? The inability to fastforward on LG?

It plays movie files from a variety of web browsers without problems.
Yes, fixes the fastforward problem.
Plays movie files well which UMS wont play.
I believe it is based on around UMS V6.8.

For me UMS 7.4 works OK. I have tried every version of UMS after 7.4 but they have issues.

Well I am still interested in fixing those bugs so please let me know if you want to and we can pick one to work on

The fastforwarding problem is because we fixed a bug in UMS that was incorrectly streaming unsupported files - it just happens that you were benefiting from the bug. So we can fix that for you by fixing the renderer config your TV uses, so that it has the correct capabilities listed.

Several times in the past we have been down this path before.
You ask me to do all this testing and I send you the results by private message.
But then I get no reply from you.

The truth is I'm over it now.

My understanding is that the memory problem is the same on DMS, and is related to LG TVs spamming browse requests in the background. If that's not the case then we aren't aware of the problem, and we can't fix what we aren't aware of
