Why don't some TV series recognize them from the TMDB database?

Post by julbroa »

I have some TV series in a directory and a few have been recognized very quickly by the tagger, even per episode, but many are ignored or it is not possible to tag them, although if they are in the TMDB database, will anyone have a clue on how to solve it? or why would it be?

Impossible to know without seeing what UMS is doing. The logs should show why (see the section in red above)
Once these files are scanned and entered into the database they will not show up in the lags again so you will need to copy these videos to a new folder to be re-scanned when doing the logs.

Could you give an example of what is working and what is not as there is too much to go though.

I did see one error about a MP3 but I don't think this is it as that uses Music Brainz and not TMDB.

Yes, thanks. For example, I have episodes of this series: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/79696-man ... anguage=es or https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/12539-win ... anguage=es or https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/32613-can ... anguage=es but no matter how hard I try to edit the metatags using the built-in tool, it does not recognize them, and for example, this other series https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1430-cosm ... anguage=es or https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/228303-el ... anguage=es identified it almost immediately, therefore it is not clear to me why some series if they are quickly identified and others are not

Sorry for the wait. I started to look into this but had to do something else, then had computer problems which meant I could not analyse logs.

I had a look for those episodes in the logs but as they had already been scanned and entered into the database the metadata does not show in the logs, only when they are first scanned will they show.
Could you make new logs but create a new test folder to share and copy those problem videos into it so UMS will scan them as new files?
This will give an indication of why they are not getting anything from TMDB. I suspect it might be related to the language code but is just a guess.

There were some things in the log I don't recognise. Do you have an idea what they could be?
