render / performance

Post by flash »

Hi,

i have installed ums on my HP Microserver N40l on top a freh Centos 6.4 installation. On the moment i have 2GB ram inside.
I have some problems with the performance when i stream to my sony Z5800 TV or some other rendering agent. The movie is runnig vor 2-3 sec. - stay - running 2-3 sec. stay...
But i think and have read that the cpu should be fast enough for hd movie. Or?
What can i do? Some hints?

My second problem is that my Android phone say to all inside movie foulder, Web include, that no compatible files are found or that the file format isnt supported. The render configuration was from original android.conf, i have only switched the user agent info to recognized the right phone.

Some hints would be helpful - thanks a lot

Hey Flash,

A few things to consider.

Is it streaming? or transcoding? You can tell when the Buffer bar in UMS is showing 0 or its maxed out at 198...

2GB doesnt seam like a lot considering that the OS might take half of that, then UMS will take up to ~700MB. Also how many Core is your CPU?

are you wireless or hardline from UMS to TV?

what too is helpful is to zip and attach the UMS logs:
Go to to the logs tab, Select from Debug to Trace, then Pack Debug Files

upload them here.
