Re: MKV Slowdown.
Thanks mate. Had a feeling it wasn't to do with UMSSubJunk wrote:It looks like it's a bug in MKVMerge that causes it to flag the framerate as being "variable" type instead of "constant", even though the input video is a constant framerate. Setting the framerate in MKVMerge doesn't seem to change that.
You could open a bug report with them.
EDIT: Although having said that, any idea why it works perfectly fine on my PC using MPC-HC and works fine using other media server programs like Serviio?
Re: [Solved] MKV Slowdown.
It's probable that the way they wrote their code makes their programs guess the correct framerate.
I can try to workaround the bug in the next version

Please try your best otherwise I'm going to have to redownload a lot of stuff =/SubJunk wrote:It's probable that the way they wrote their code makes their programs guess the correct framerate.

Re: [Solved] MKV Slowdown.
OK I think it's fixed now. It was actually a bug in MediaInfo, not MKVMerge, by the way
You can download the fixed version of UMS here.

I love you. I'll test it out immediately.SubJunk wrote:OK I think it's fixed now. It was actually a bug in MediaInfo, not MKVMerge, by the way
You can download the fixed version of UMS here.
EDIT: Ok, while it doesn't slow down as much and as often, there are still slowdowns. =/
Re: MKV Slowdown.
Darn. It worked when I tested it. Can you post your debug zip file (Traces -> Pack debug files) using the "fixed" version?
Re: MKV Slowdown.
Here you go. I can give you specific times for when it slows down too: 0:12 for a few seconds then again at 0:25 at it stays like that for a while. Could it be that I didn't delete the .conf files in "C:\ProgramData\UMS" when I upgraded to the fixed version?

Re: MKV Slowdown.
Perhaps it has something to do with my settings? Do you want a look at those too?

Re: MKV Slowdown.
Any news? Still horrid slowdowns with version 2.0.0 too.
Re: MKV Slowdown.
I have just opened a new topic for mencoder.exe of UMS 2.0.0 build, which is not working for me.Tyestor wrote:Any news? Still horrid slowdowns with version 2.0.0 too.
I just saw in your debug.log the same 'rc buffer underflow' error message that I saw in my log file.
So maybe your issue is also related to mencoder.exe.
Maybe you can test the 2.0.0 build with mencoder.exe of version 1.6.0, because that one seems to work for me.
At least you will have a workaround then until the issue gets investigated and/or solved...
