Does not work on my roommate's Sharp Aquos. I select the movie, shows the screen where I have to wait a second or two for it to start, then it goes back to the selection menu. I included the debug files. I have to revert back to 2.1.2 (the last version that worked).

That last debug log is from version 2.2.5, please attach one for 2.3.0 and 2.1.2 so I can compare them

Well, my issue wasn't listed under the changelog. I will go through the trouble of upgrading and see if it works. I just hate installing a new version, then reverting back to the older ones over and over again.

Well, the Java Exception has been fixed. I am on Java 7u13 and there are no Java errors in 2.4.0. However, my roommate's TV still does not work with 2.4.0 (or anything above 2.1.2). The 2.1.2 and 2.3.0 debug files are above, and included here are the 2.4.0 ones.
To refresh your memory, when selecting a file, it goes to start it, but then backs out back to the menu, and never actually plays.

Media renderer was not recognized. Possible identifying HTTP headers: User-Agent: DLNADOC/1.50 SHARP-AQUOS-DMP/1.1W
There is no renderer.conf for your TV. It have to be created but we can test something:
Try to force e.g. PS3 as a default renderer (in General configuration tab) and restart UMS.
Your tv should be recognized as PS3. Try to play file. Works?
Post new debug.zip in TRACE mode/level to help further.
