Hi all
I am new here.
I am using OSX 10.9 with the 3.1.2.1 version, I presume using java 6.
Despite the fact that the movies and the subtitles are located at the same directory and that they have the same name, UMS always downloads the subtitle instead of using the one that I have, which are in spanish, which are the ones that I want.
These are my settings:



Subtitles language priority: spa,eng,fre,und
Forced language: spa
Forced tags: forced
Audio/subtitles language priority: eng,spa;*,eng;*,und
Checked the Automatically load *.srt/*.sub subtitles with the same file name.

This is what I get at the log:
11-26 23:15:59 Started playing Movie.mp4 on your Samsung AllShare
11-26 23:16:21 Stopped playing Movie.mp4 on your Samsung AllShare

It looks like setting Audio/subtitles language priority to *,und will result in the srt files being used.
Is UMS downloading subtitles for movies or just showing the ones inside the mkv?

UMS won't automatically download subtitles without you knowing - to do that you have to use the "Live Subtitles" folder, in which case you can choose which language you want.
If the creator of the MP4 or MKV file has muxed subtitles into the file, but has not specified which language they are, then yes it will be marked as "und".
So in your case I suspect that there is "und(efined)" subtitles inside the video file which is why UMS doesn't work with "spa".
In the future we will have a feature that can scan the subtitle file to automatically detect its language even if the user didn't specify which language it was. There has been work on the feature but it isn't ready yet.

Thanks for your reply.
In most cases the mkvs that I play have no subtitles embed, so I use a .srt file with the same name.
Now UMS is picking those files, but I am keeping them in the same folder of the media file.
I dont know what a live subtitle folder is, but will check now.

Ok, so the live subtitles folder is in fact a fake folder just like the transcoded one.
When it reads {external subtitle} it means that it is using the .srt that is in the same folder, right?

My UMS crash if I try to use live subtitles though. Movie never starts.

I am attaching the debug log just in case.
