"There is no playable media" on PS4

Have updated to 9.8.1 but now all my media folders are showing up as empty.
am running Mac 10.15.6 & using PS4 with LG TV, my shared content are external hard drives which have worked perfectly until UMS decided to stop working so i deleted & updated to the latest UMS, on my PS4 i get the message ""There is no playable media"
