From their reply it appears that DTS is not supported so anything that uses DTS will need transcoding. With this conf that should tell UMS to do this.
Using WAV with DTS will not work as they say its is PCM only.
If you want to see what the transcoding options are see the DefaultRenderer.conf as it documents all the settings.
