Quick question about updating the ps3 firmware

Hi there, first i want to thank subjunk and sharkhunter (and anyone else) who has made this the best streaming program around.
I was just curious, my ps3's firmware is 3.73 (a bit older) and i was wondering if you guys update your firmware. Right now i'm runnig UMS 1.40 and everything streams fine, including my MKV's that need to run as DTS audio through my receiver. I know in the past, updating firmware made certain MKV's harder to play, so just wondering if i should leave it alone. I ask because in order to run Hulu, it needs me to update.
