[Solved] Unsupported File Format {.mp4 files} UMS 5.0.1

Hi, I have been using UMS for a long while now, and have never had any issues until now.

I'm trying to stream .mp4 files to my Samsung TV {All Share}, but all I seem to get is Unsupported file format.

I have added the debug zip file, hopefully I've done it right this time?

Thanks for any help.

Hi darK_Guy, can you please create logs for the last version that was working for you too? Then we can compare

Thanks for reply SubJunk.

I downloaded previous version from sourceforge {5.0.0}.

This version of UMS was able to stream .mp4 files no problem.

I used the same test file, which worked straight away with no unsupported file format warning.

I have uploaded the debug log as requested.

Same thing happened. Out of sudden got an error "This file format is not supported" while tried to play .mp4. As suggested above downgraded to UMS 5.0.0 to solve the problem. All good now. Thanks.

Here is the link for previous version from sourceforge;
UMS-5.0.0-Java8
http://sourceforge.net/projects/unimedi ... es/Windows

Subjunk, can I ask what was the issue that was causing UMS problems with .mp4 files?

Hey guys. Having this problem too. I downgraded to 5.0.0 and it worked but other bugs like empty folders after playing media and a possible memory leak causing bad playback until UMS is restarted is causing me to go back to 5.0.1 which works much better.

Except for on our main Samsung with mp4 files. If I hit info it says they are QuickTime files and not mp4 and refuses to play.

How can we get this fixed in 5.0.1? I'm using mp4 because I have audio playback issues with mkv on this Samsung.

Thanks

Edit: Tried with 5.1.0 and same thing. Including trace.log

It seems that from 5.0.0 to 5.0.1, it changed the way that mp4's were recognized on Samsung C/D TVs so that it previously showed:

5.0.0
TRACE 07:49:41.498 [New I/O worker #7] Network debugger: The.Last.Man.On.Earth.S01E01.HDTV.x264-KILLERS http-get:*:video/mpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_PS_PAL;DLNA.ORG_OP=01 size=353524199 duration=00:43:34.98 http://192.168.1.100:5001/get/82/The.La ... ILLERS.mp4

5.0.1/5.1.0
TRACE 21:40:34.322 [New I/O worker #8] Network debugger: "The.Last.Man.On.Earth.S01E01.HDTV.x264-KILLERS" http-get:*:video/quicktime:DLNA.ORG_OP=01 size=353524199 duration=00:43:34.98 http://192.168.1.100:5001/get/86/The.La ... ILLERS.mp4

Above is from the original poster.

From my attempt at 5.1.0 I see the same thing:
TRACE 09:25:32.331 [New I/O worker #5] Network debugger: "Once Upon A Time - 416" http-get:*:video/quicktime:DLNA.ORG_OP=01 size=298090239 duration=00:42:24.36 http://192.168.1.241:5001/get/54/once.u ... 64-2hd.mp4

I know on 5.0.0 and under when I hit info on the file in the allshare system it showed video/mpeg and now it is showing video/quicktime as the container type without it even having to play.

Thanks
