Streaming breaks after 5 seconds

Post by Bamel »

Hi Guys,

i'm pretty new to this. I have OBD with SRS working. The FLV Stream is working in UMS Player. When sending this stream via UMS to my Samsung Series 9, the following happened:
1) When selecting any conversion fro the #transcription folder, the stream won't play. Samsung just shows "Network Problem", or "Unsupported Format".
2) When selecting "No Transcription" the stream starts correctly but automatically ends after about ~5 seconds.
3) Playing an mpeg video just works fine (not in the debug log).

I also tried to get hls working as input for UMS, but when entering any hls adress, like https://test-streams.mux.dev/x36xhzz/x36xhzz.m3u8 the folders in UMS are empty.

Debug log shows 1) and then 2)

Thanks for help

I'm not sure but the TV might not support streaming FLV so is why it is stopping after a few seconds as it does not know to check for more data when not transcoding, otherwise FLVs are set as supported files but you have set them to transcode in the settings.

I don't know anything about streaming video so not sure what is wrong.
I can't see that video playing in the web player so I can't compare and see what UMS is doing differently for the TV but I don't think it is being treated as a video stream either.

I can't get that test stream to work either, I'm not sure UMS is set up for playing a hls playlist like that instead of an actual video stream.
I know the web player uses hls to play the videos so in theory it should be able to but may not be implemented in this way.

I don't know what OBD and SRS are, google is not helping either. Do you mean OBS?

There are some posts on the forum about streaming and they used RTMP. Maybe this post will be of help.
